Community Risk Reduction (CRR)

The Boles Fire Protection District is committed to proactive Community Risk Reduction (CRR) programs as a core part of our mission. These initiatives focus on connecting with our community and reducing preventable emergencies that can lead to injury or loss.
At Boles, Community Risk Reduction is carried out through five key areas: Fire Prevention (Inspections & Investigations), Public Relations, Public Education, Injury Prevention, and Public Information.
Public Relations
Our Public Relations efforts are primarily delivered by on-duty firefighters through both planned and impromptu community interactions. Every member of the Boles Fire Protection District plays a role in representing the organization and maintaining a positive public image.
Common outreach events include block parties, station tours, and apparatus demonstrations. When you see our crews engaging with the public, we encourage you to stop by, ask questions, and connect with your firefighters.
Public Education
Our Public Education programs are led by trained Fire & Life Safety Educators and are built on structured curriculum with measurable outcomes. Unlike general outreach, these programs are specifically designed to influence behavior and reduce risk by addressing common safety hazards.
Injury Prevention
Injury Prevention focuses on hands-on services that directly improve safety in our community. These include:
-
Child car seat installations for families
-
Installation of smoke, carbon monoxide, and gas detectors
-
Life Safety Inspections for homes, apartments, and businesses
These services are delivered by trained firefighters and are intended to provide residents and business owners with confidence in their safety.
Public Information
In today’s fast-paced digital world, access to accurate information is critical. The Boles Fire Protection District provides timely and reliable information through media outlets, community newsletters, our website, and social media platforms.
Our goal is to ensure the public has clear, trustworthy information that supports safety and informed decision-making.
By maintaining clear focus across these areas, our Community Risk Reduction efforts allow us to better connect with our community, address identified hazards, evaluate program effectiveness, and continuously improve the services we provide.
