Emergency Kit

Be Ready When You Need It Most

Emergencies can disrupt power, transportation, and access to everyday necessities. Keeping basic supplies together and ready can help your household remain safe and comfortable until normal services are restored.

WATER & FOOD

Keep enough water and nonperishable food for everyone in your household for several days. Choose foods that are easy to store and prepare, and remember supplies for infants, older adults, and pets.

LIGHT, POWER & INFORMATION

Include flashlights, extra batteries, portable phone chargers, and a battery-powered or hand-crank radio. A NOAA Weather Radio can provide important warnings and emergency information when other services are unavailable.

MEDICATIONS & PERSONAL NEEDS

Include necessary medications, first aid supplies, personal hygiene items, and anything household members may need for medical, mobility, sensory, or communication needs.

KEEP YOUR KIT READY

Store your emergency supplies where they are easy to reach. Check your kit regularly, replace expired items, update medications and documents, and adjust supplies as your household's needs change.

BUILD YOUR KIT TODAY

You don't have to build an emergency kit all at once. Start with the basics, add a few items at a time, and build a kit that fits the needs of your household.
